The National e-Procurement System of Tanzania (NeST) includes a unique feature for automatic evaluation, a groundbreaking advancement that speeds up the procurement process and reduces human errors. This function relies on machine learning algorithms within the system, examining supplier profiles from registration onwards and following established rule sets. Moreover, NeST is equipped with a Certificate Authority (CA) that allows users to digitally sign documents using signatures generated by the system. This new method aims to enhance procurement efficiency by eliminating the manual steps of downloading, signing, and uploading documents. Most importantly, NeST includes an innovative feature that tracks every stage of the procurement process. This feature proactively identifies and alerts potential fraud occurrences during procurement. The Tender Tracker feature in NeST represents a pioneering innovation aimed at ensuring transparency in procurement processes and early detection of fraud indicators.
